Composition I composed using the COPET Method
Family! I want to share with you all a composition I recently made called "Improvisation in C flat major" using my COPET Method to work on a technique called "expressive playing". Enjoy and let me know your thoughts please. https://youtu.be/mJNGGT3n5SQ
Assessing my own piano octave technique
Hey family! Happy Thursday. The following video is me playing octaves from two of my favorite pieces by Franz Liszt:The Mazeppa, and the Sonata in b minor. This video is from a few years ago and one thing I want you to take note of is how I’m using my fourth and fifth fingers to play the octaves instead of just using fifth finger. This allows my octaves to be faster and causes no tension in the hand. Another thing to pay attention to is how loose the arms are which is the key to speed and fluidity. How good are your octaves?

I used the COPET Method to compose this…
Family! I used the COPET method to compose my version of Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song. Christmas is my favorite holiday and as I was listening to The Christmas Song I felt emotions of nostalgia, coziness, and happiness. So I went to my piano, used these same emotions, tied it to a true story of what Christmas meant for me as a kid, and went to work. Enjoy! I want you all to do the same, it doesn’t have to be a Christmas song, but compose something small, or play a piece from your repertoire that reminds you of Christmas. Record it, and post it in this thread!

A composition I made using the COPET Method
Family! Here is a composition I made a while ago using the COPET method as an intro to a hip hop beat I was working on. From my heart and mind to yall, the story I envisioned is the moment Beethoven finally realized his hearing would never be the same. Can you imagine the anguish he felt?! Anyway here is the piece. I want you to listen, and in the comment section tell me what emotions you feel, and tie it to your own story. Enjoy! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQyJVp2DZNe/?igsh=MWJjNnNqYTRjZ3Ztdw==
For feedback
It has been a long time since I played my own improvisations for anyone other than whoever was standing in the room. I mentioned a recent one where I set my iPhone down on a piano recently at a friend's house and made up a short song. I placed a link below. https://youtu.be/slG79GEHGQc Thanks also to @Cliff Jones for suggesting I collect some of these into a playlist. Hopefully this link works for you too. No professional editing, these were mostly for me to share with my family. Hope you enjoy them too.
