Hi everyone, though I would post this, it's 04:45 am and I'm enjoying a 2-night stay in my local hospital NOT
But in all fairness, the staff here are brilliant and run off their feet. I cannot fault the care and dedication of every single one of them. My son brought my laptop into the hospital for me, and the staff have allowed me to use it and connect to their WifI, so a bonus for me. However, I could not make the Thursday night meeting, as my son forgot to bring my headphones, Doh.
My reason for posting this is mainly in case any newbies like myself should be seeking information. like myself. It is hard to believe that only 5 weeks ago, I knew nothing. "I was as green as a cabbage is looking", as my mother would say. I have sent DSARs to Lowell before, and they have basically ignored them.
However, I managed to pull them (Lowell's) up on a procedural matter thanks to all the advice I received in here. The Business Centre has now acknowledged the error and is allowing me to defend this case. I therefore decided I would send another DSAR, but this time including 'The vulnerability Issue"
Now I may be reading too much into this. Therefore, forgive me if my assumptions are wrong. I submitted the DSAR to Lowell's before I submitted my Completed N180 to Overdales, purposely for obvious reasons (they are one and the same).
Now here's the strange thing: this time I got a reply. I submitted my DSAR on 29/09/25 and received a reply on 03/10/25. Less than a week unheard of, I know.
Now here's the thing, I don't know if this is them (Lowell's) changing tactics, as they no longer hold Part 4 FCA authorisation to collect debts.
Their reply is quite simple: See PDF
Log in to their customer Portal with your reference number, and you can find out everything you need to know, what letters we sent you, etc, and why we hold your information.
Thankfully, I knew "You never accept the debt"; it is their place to prove you owe the debt and that they have the Deed of Assignment (DOA). Now, the next part I checked with the BOT, and it confirmed my suspicions
The minute you sign in and add your reference number to their Portal, YOU are accepting that the debit is yours and that you OWE the money, "A VERY BIG NO NO NO" Incidently, they are still avoiding disclosing information about the DOA, but no surprises there.
Hopefully, after the ward Rounds today, I'll be going home. So I will catch up on Thursday's meeting. Please feel free to add your comments. Especially if you think my analysis/take on this is wrong. I would not want to mislead anyone.
