I have an unusual case. I moved into an apartment 4 years ago and the agency gave the wrong surname for me to the council. Despite my best efforts to tell them my correct name, they continued to chase me in the wrong name. I never paid the council tax on that basis. They took the wrong name to court and sent each year a notice of liability order. June this year I left the property and have been homeless since. My formal address is a local homeless shelter. Today I went to collect my post to find the council have written to me again in the wrong name but now at the homeless shelter. They have somehow obtained my details. Firstly if the order is on the wrong name surely its void,? and secondly is this a data breach?
