Companies House id stuff
Good afternoon fellow remedy seekers.
i have been putting together a letter to Companies House re the id verification stuff.
Unfortunately until the off shore company application comes in i have to keep a company registered with companies house. This is me filibustering but with purpose. Please, if you have the time and the energy could you read through my efforts and comment, criticise and correct. Please ignore point 5. Many thanks in anticipation.
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your reply and the information given.
The form CO01 has been downloaded.
Before the form is filled in and sent off there are some questions.
  1. Please send a copy of the original agreement/contract this customer has with Companies House.
  2. Please supply a copy of the updated terms and conditions so that the specific requirements and justifications for the digital ID can be understood.
  3. Most of what is on the form is in boxes, legally that means it is not part of the document. Why is that so and why is it required? Does it belong with another contract?
  4. Sensitive data is asked for on this form. Please can you provide details of how this data will be stored, how long it will be kept, who gets to see it and will it be sold to third parties and does it conform to the relevant Data protection requirements?
  5. Payment by cheque. This is not possible. Please provide an alternative form of payment.
  6. A payment of 44 pounds has already been made, all be it to the wrong department, HMRC, Cumbernauld. How can this be rectified?
  7. It is understood that the government has given an American company responsible for one log in system including data storage. This company has failed the test to secure data. What reassurances can Companies House give that they be trusted with the data filed on this form? The company is not compliant with the Data Protection Act 2018, particularly regarding the lawful processing of personal data.
  8. Companies House is a company. In line with Companies Act 2006 and other relevant legislation. Do these changes and modifications to agreements with companies house comply and have they been executed properly. Please provide evidence.
  9. Please define 'identity verification becomes a legal requirement.
  10. What justification is given for providing additional bio metric data? What purpose does it serve and what problem does it solve?
  11. It would seem that there is a threat to not conforming to ID verification.        'If you do not comply with all identity verification requirements on time, you may be committing an offence. You may face prosecution and a fine through the courts, or a financial penalty. In the future, we’ll publish a note against your name on the Companies House public register. You will also be unable to:  be appointed as a new director to an existing company register a new company or entity  register as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP, also known as an authorised agent) We will use the full range of our powers to make sure everyone complies with the verification requirements, and take action against anyone who does not comply. Please justify this threat against the fact that the governments service providers have been de-classified because the provider, iProvv allowed its certification to lapse. This certification is mandatory for digital identity systems linked to UK public services. In addition One Login met only 21 out of 39 outcomes detailed in the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF). Full compliance is expected for critical national services. Plus, Undetected Compromise Vulnerability: A "red teaming" exercise conducted by security consultancy Cyberis in March 2025 discovered that privileged access to One Login could be compromised without detection by security monitoring tools. Also, Offshore Development Risks: Reports from 2022 revealed that contractors in Romania were developing the system on unsecured workstations without required security clearance. The government now claims the system is 100% developed and managed in the UK. These are some of the serious concerns. Please put in writing evidence that these points have been addressed and all compliance issues have been satisfied.
  12. These points must be addressed and dealt with by a competent officer with authority to respond and take responsibility for the response. They must provide their full name, position within the company, company id number or similar and a work place address. Anonymous correspondence will not be acceptable.
