I want to help a person
Hello. My colleague at work was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of the left lung on 31.01.2025, stage 3 with metastases to the lymph nodes of the mediastinum. The complication is paracancrotic pneumonia of the left lung. Body temperature 38-39°C lasts every day for a month. Mild iron deficiency anemia. Recently, on 02/28/2025, PET was performed/CT scan with 18F-FDG. Activity was detected in the Sigmoid colon and nearby lymph nodes, as well as in the lymph nodes of the neck and above the collarbone. My colleague says that he has lost a lot of weight, there is almost no body fat, and it seems to him that his muscles are shrinking. I suggested that he completely give up carbohydrates and dairy products and switch to proteins and fats, but he worries that cancer will start eating away at his muscles even more due to the lack of carbohydrates. The traditional treatment has not yet been prescribed, the person is a blank slate. Please advise me what to do in his case to gain weight before starting traditional treatment and not fuel cancer.
