Sun - Mar 15. The Ides of March - Knowing when to ask for help!
Hi Friend! What Julius Caesar didn't notice and brushed off on a long-ago March 15th cost him dearly. It appears he was so certain of himself that he didn't listen to dire warnings. I'll let you look that one up, if you'd like. Things aren't quite so dire today, but I'm taking an opportunity to listen to what @Lisa Burke said in her comment on the Mar. 12 post. She is wise indeed to remind herself and all of us that asking for help when we're stuck is a good plan. Immediately upon reading her comment, I was reminded of a book I keep on my nightstand for when I need some gentle, happy thoughts to help me sleep. "The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, and The Horse" is a sweet reminder to care for ourselves and each other, by artist Charlie Mackesy. I highly recommend it! The Boy asks the Horse when he has been at his strongest, and the Horse tells him it's when he's been brave enough to show weakness. "Asking for help isn't giving up," said the Horse. "It's refusing to give up." I have felt like giving up on technology this week, but I'm going to find solutions, instead. When and how have YOU refused to give up?

Fri - Mar 12. I missed posting from our last LIVE Call.! Here it is.
Hey My Friend! Friday got away from me in hours of technology torture. I worked with a friend to try and solve my newsletter CRM issues and figure out why my Calendly shut me out. Stupid Human Tricks! After reflecting on this experience a while, I realized that I have learned a ton of functionality on tech since I started using it to build my online presence. And though that is true, my understanding is elementary when compared with what some of my needs require. What I realized is that when it come to internal Chaos, this is my biggest challenge. Being stuck in the tech swirl is what causes me the most angst in my personal world at the moment. Today I'm working on some concrete solutions to this predicament, so I can reduce my stress around it. It took me a little while to move from marinating in overwhelm, to calming myself with EFT Tapping and Jin Shin Jyutsu, to solutions-based thinking. I'm wondering - Have you been through a similar process on a repeated stressor? Or might you have worked through something in another way?

Mon - Mar 9. Yikes! Got Behind. Let's Welcome Ted to CYC!
My Friend! Ya might wanna pour some tea, this is a long one... We've hit 30 members! I'm so grateful you all are here. We gotta welcome our newest member, and my podcast partner for "Stepping Out of Stuck" on YT, Ted Simmons. Ted is known as The Superhero of Shyness, as he helps shy folks to recognize the skills they developed through their shyness and how to use those skills today. Say Hello to Ted! :) My apologies. It's been a week, packed into a day, packed into a minute. Wait, is that a Time Turducken? 🤣. I'm late, but not lost... This weekend, anxiety has been a visitor at night. I didn't sleep well at all Friday and last night. I'm struggling with the external chaos right now. Finding myself so angry that many Americans are struggling to pay for food, healthcare, rent, etc. And there's "no money" for support programs like WIC and SNAP. And SS, Medicare, and Medicaid are shaky. Meanwhile, billions of our tax dollars are being spent to attack other countries and kill and injure innocents. I'll leave it at that, but it has me shaken. This is a time of real pedal-to-the-medal, money-where-your-mouth-is, Chaos management. I'm doing what I can with phone calls and postcards sent to "leaders". And from there, I need to care for myself in order to be able to support others. None of us can pour from an empty bucket, right? So, it's back to my Jin Shin Finger Holds, my EFT Tapping practice, time in nature (I groomed my horse within an inch of his life yesterday, because that's a therapy for me - and he loves the attention). I'm working to avoid added sugar, reaching out to friends, sharing laughs and kitchen support with my neighbors (Got an extra egg? I just need two tortillas.) and getting lots of movement and hydration in (I have another community on Skool called "Functional Fitness Over 50"). Check it out! I'm working on Box Breathing when I feel my heart rate go up. And leaving my phone on silent for longer periods when I need to concentrate or calm myself.
