Welcome to Called To Write
Welcome to Called to Write. ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm so glad you're here โ€” and I don't say that as a throwaway line. The fact that you found this community tells me something about you: there's a message inside you that you haven't fully released yet. Maybe it's been there for years (like me). Maybe you've started and stopped. Maybe you haven't even let yourself say out loud that God wants you to write a book โ€” because saying it out loud makes it real, and real is terrifying. I get it. That was me too. ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ This community exists because I have finally said yes to what I'd been burying โ€” and I'm documenting the whole journey here, in real time. The doubt, the resistance, the tools that actually help, and the breakthroughs when they come. You're not here to watch from the sidelines. You're here because your story matters too. โœจ So let's start there. ๐Ÿ‘‡ Drop a comment to introduce yourself and share: ๐Ÿ‘‰ What's the ONE thing that's blocked you from writing the book you know you're meant to write? No judgment. No polished answers needed. This is a safe place to say the thing you've maybe never said before. Welcome home. ๐Ÿ™

The Message Within You
A post came up in my Facebook feed that made me think of you so felt inspired to share this. Lana Vawser is an Australian who who hears God and as such, speaks out what she hears God saying. She shared a word God gave her earlier in the week. The below is an extract. I hope this blesses and encourages you as it did me: For there are many of you that I have placed My and My message within you but you have hidden it away because of comparison, because of fear and intimidation. And I am calling you to arise and release that which I have called you to speak. There are many that have felt like you have lost your vision. You have lost the direction of that which I have called you to and have found yourself caught in places of indecision. And I say unto you, that I am reminding you again of that which I have revealed to you. I am reawakening the vision. Where many have laid down the vision because of discouragement, warfare and weariness; I say unto you, receive My breath upon you that will release My hope, My strength and My vision again. โ€˜For there has been great battle over much of what you carry because the enemy seeks to cause you to remain in a place of hiding, but I am shining My light into the places where you have been hiding and I am calling you forth. You go not alone. I am covering you, surrounding you and I GO WITH YOU. I have gone before you and I have prepared the way. All you need to do is follow in obedience to what I have spoken, what I have placed in your hands and where I am leading you. It is not by your strength or your power, but it is by MY strength and MY power (Zech 4:6) that you shall see Me do through you that which I am asking you to step up, out and into.
Is it a typing day or thinking day?
I think I'm learning to give myself permission that 'thinking' time on the book is just as effective as the actual writing! LOVE this quote that creates space for that acceptance. So with that - what are you "thinking" on when it comes to the book you want to write? I'll go first. I'm thinking about research. When I do some research for my book, what's the correct way to reference that. Which then goes down the trail of thinking about the type of research I'd like to do. Your turn ๐Ÿ’ž

Think about what your buying process looks like when it comes to choosing a book to buy. One thing I often do in addition to reading the book's description is to read the ratings section. Specifically, comments that readers have made, along with their rating. With an outline mapped out and a clear idea on what I think the structure of the book needs to look like, the idea came to me the other day to do some further research. What I've realised is that reading other people's COMMENTS on books that are on a similar topic to what you want to write about is a GOLD MINE for finding out what your ideal reader likes - and doesn't like. What do you want your readers to experience when they read your book? Clarity? Encouragement? Hope? Something else? Practical application? I'm certain that having a clear idea on what kind of experience I want my reader to have, will function like a compass to help keep me on track. So I couldn't wait to share this idea with you too!
