Wanted to share an insight that I got earlier this week that I've been chewing on. I was hanging out with some friends a while ago and we were taking dabs. Every time this one friend took a dab, his girl was right there and he would breathe the hit into her and she would exhale it. Was a little weird at first not gonna lie. But I find the image of that beautiful.
That image came into my head again when I was smoking the other night. My mind seems to naturally start thinking thoughts relevant to the monthly BWC theme the week leading up to it!
As I was smoking I got to thinking: When two people share breath like that... it's divine. And sexual. And in much the same way, we get to share our breath with a plant when we breathe in its vapors! And it's just about as sexual, in my opinion. You're literally allowing part of another being into your body.
Allowing another being into your body! That's so important. Our plant teachers are not inanimate objects. Their magic isn't just some chemical reaction. When we breathe them in, I like to think it opens a window into how they see.
I've been trying to relate more to how indigenous peoples understand the plant and stone kingdoms. They aren't just plants and rocks -- they're the "plant people" and the "stone people." I'm just in awe of how miraculous and absurd it is that we can commune with these "peoples" (cannabis, tobacco, etc.) by smoking them! (Sure, edibles are cool but they don't have that primal sexiness that smoking does. fight me)
Not only do we get to share our breath with the plants; they share their breath with us.
So -- while I don't anticipate lying in bed with a plant anytime soon -- my point is that this perspective of seeing plant-human interaction as sexual -- in a loose sense -- has enhanced the experience for me. When I bring some cannabis flower to my lips, light her up and breathe her in... sexual energy exchange is a most fitting analogy. I feel more connected, more unified when I'm smoking with the awareness of this sacred, primal connection. 🌿💞
Breathe with cannabis.
That statement could imply that cannabis is also breathing, no?
Perhaps your mind, like mine, has interpreted "breathe with cannabis" as "breathe IN cannabis," or "breathe while ON cannabis."
But I've realized... You, breathing in cannabis, is only half of the picture. Don't forget: cannabis is also breathing in you.
