🌈 Fun Baking Idea #1: Rainbow Layer Cake (From a Box Mix!)
This is a show-stopper cake that looks fancy but is actually very beginner-friendly. Great for birthdays, parties, or social media content. 🧁 You’ll Need: - 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients on the box) - Food coloring (red, yellow, green, blue, etc.) - 2–3 bowls - 1 tub or batch of vanilla frosting 🥣 How To Make It: 1. Prepare the cake batter according to the box. 2. Divide the batter evenly into 3–5 bowls (however many colors you want). 3. Add food coloring to each bowl and mix until bright. 4. Pour each color into separate greased cake pans (or bake in batches). 5. Bake according to box directions and let layers cool completely. 6. Stack the layers with frosting between each one. 7. Frost the outside and decorate however you like! 💡 Business Tip: Rainbow cakes photograph really well and are great for birthdays and custom orders. 👇 Engagement question for your Skool post: Would you try this as a cake or cupcakes?

Day 1: Start With People You Already Know
The easiest way to get your first customers is not strangers on the internet — it’s the people who already know you. Your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, and Facebook friends are your first audience. They already trust you. They already want to support you. 💡 Today’s simple action step: Post (or message) something like: “Hey! I’m starting a home baking business and I’ll be taking orders soon. If you ever need treats for birthdays, work, or events, I’d love your support!” You’re not being annoying. You’re letting people support you. 👇 Comment below: Where are you going to post first — Facebook, text messages, or word of mouth? Small steps. Real momentum. 🧁

📣 Let’s Talk About Promoting Your New Business
One of the hardest (and most important) parts of starting a baking business isn’t the baking — it’s telling people you exist. This week, we’re going to start learning how to put ourselves out there, even if it feels awkward, scary, or uncomfortable at first. You don’t need a huge following, a perfect brand, or fancy photos to start. You just need to start showing up. We’ll talk about: • How to tell people what you sell • Where to post and what to say • How to promote without feeling “salesy” • How to grow little by little, for real 💡 First small action step: Today, tell one person (or make one post) about what you’re building. Drop a comment and tell us: 👉 What are you planning to sell or bake? We’re building this together. One post, one customer, one step at a time. 🧁🤍

🧁 Welcome to the Butter & Batter Family! 🧁
I just want to say thank you for being here. Truly. Whether you’re here because you love baking, dream of starting a home business, or just want to build something for yourself, I’m so glad you chose to join me on this journey. Butter & Batter isn’t about perfection or having it all figured out. It’s about learning, building, trying, failing, adjusting, and winning together. I’m building this business in real time, and I wanted a place where we can grow side by side, share ideas, ask questions, and support each other along the way. This is a safe, encouraging, no-judgment space. Every question is welcome. Every small win matters. Every step forward counts. Thank you for believing in this little dream with me. I’m so excited to see what we all build together. 🤍 Please feel free to introduce yourself. We’d love to get to know you. — Chelsea
