I build a trading system and post what it does, seven times a day.
It reads daily bars for forex, US stocks and commodities, finds 12 chart shapes, then follows every one for 60 bars. Over 10,000 have finished. In US stocks roughly 4,900 reached target, about 3,960 stopped out, 1,460 went nowhere. Same file, nothing deleted.
Taking any US pattern at all reaches target about 47% of the time. That is the number every rule here has to beat, and most of mine don't.
Rising wedge short reaches target 34.7% of the time. A famous shape that does worse than picking blind. It stays on the card, graded avoid.
I blamed a look-ahead bug in my spike filter. It changed nothing. The real one was my trendline taking the longest window, not the earliest confirmation.
This week I cut forex from 778 pairs to 10 and deleted the rest. Half of that was my own double counting: every pair had its inverse in the book too.
