There’s not many in this batch, so be sure to check the website first thing in the morning. Each set is triple-oiled, and triple-sanded, finishing off with a 400grit to give them an ultra-smooth finish and exotic purple lustre. The crazy part is, the purple color is completely natural. When you first sand Purple Heart, it is a dull brown color. Then, come back a day later, and the oils inside the wood oxidize to give it a rich purple finish. Some of these Purpleheart Hybrid Kali even have “figuring” which is super rare. Only 1% of wood has this phenomenon which makes the light refract in a way that makes it almost look liquid. Here’s a sneak peek of some that just finished their third oiling and were ready for handle installation 😍

We’re deep in production mode on the Kiridashi Razor. Progress is strong, but we’re taking our time. Every piece has to be flawless because "Only The Best Is Good Enough." Here’s a sneak peek inside the build. As you can see, we use high-powered rare-earth magnets to seamlessly secure the cap to the handle, creating a smooth, precise fit. No two are the same. Each handle carries its own unique grain structure, making each one a unique piece of functional art. And these aren’t even polished yet! Can’t wait to show you the final form.

After Tuhon Martin Gonzales put together an epic course using the Kobo Krusher, we started thinking about how to train the material safely without wrecking your training partner. That led us to a simple idea: injection-moulded rubber tips that you can slide onto the ends during training. They’d add about 0.5" of soft cushioning to absorb impact, while still allowing for control and joint manipulations. Same weight. Same feel. Fewer injuries. This is our first concept draft. Feels like it’s time to prototype and put it to the test! What do you think?
