Grant Richardson has written many articles in Traditional Bowhunting Magazines and I had the opportunity to speak to him about the "One Instinctive Aiming Drill Almost No One Practices (But Should)"...
You donāt need your bow for this.
You donāt need a range.
All you need is two quiet minutes.
The Drill ā¬ļø
Minute 1:
Sit down. Pick ONE spot across the room.Lock in. No movement. No drifting.
Minute 2:
Raise your bow arm and visualize:
Draw ā anchor ā release ā hold.
Visualize whatever you shoot - target, 3D, or an animal. The brain doesnāt know the difference between real reps and focused visualization.
Why This Works ā
- Trains focus and concentration
- Builds instinctive aiming pathways
- Exposes weakness under pressure
- Sharpen skills even when you canāt shoot
Instinctive shooting is a perishable skill. If you donāt train it, you lose it.
This drill keeps you sharp - even off the range.
š Question for the group: What breaks your focus the fastest when youāre shooting - movement, noise, or pressure?
Letās talk.
