There’s more to this picture than it seems. Years of figuring each other out. Mountains we had climbed in our relationship to understand one another. My old man. My best friend. The pain in my side and the thorn I am grateful for.
Working together, trying to outrun his shadow since I was a boy. Not understanding he was never trying to throw shade, just outrunning a shadow of his own.
Through those revelations and understandings, our relationship was able to grow from a shrub that you don’t want to trim, to a garden you look forward to watering.
This community is for those of us with big shadows in our life. Utilizing the book I’m writing to illustrate and be a guide for fathers and sons to understand one another. To respect each other. And to finally stop trying, to outrun the shadow.
