Welcome to The Better Way Club — start here
You're in a working group for business owners who are done being the only reason their company runs. No fluff, no funnels, no ten-step frameworks. Just real questions, real answers, and the kind of peer conversations you can't get anywhere else. The one rule here: we ask why. Why does that process exist? Why does it cost what it costs? Why are you still the only one who can do that one thing? The businesses that grow are the ones where that question never stops getting asked. Three things to do right now. Introduce yourself. Drop a comment below with your name, your business, and the one thing that only works because you're the one doing it. Mark your calendar. The live Q&A is the second Tuesday of every month, 12:00 PM ET. The next one is Tuesday, July 14 at noon ET. Show up live if you can; everything's recorded if you can't. Ask your first question. Post it in the community or email scott@betterwayclub.com. Written answers within 5 business days. No discovery calls, no "let's hop on a quick call." Just answers. What to expect: I show up here daily, but not constantly, so you'll get a real answer, usually within a day. The best moments don't come from me; they come from another owner saying "we ran into that exact thing, here's what we did." What gets shared here stays here, real businesses and real numbers, treated the way you'd want yours treated. Teach first. Ask why. Build better. Glad you're here. Let's get to work. Scott

Who are you when you're off the clock?
This room isn't all spreadsheets and systems. Tell us about the human behind the business. What do you do when you actually step away? Woodworking, fishing, a sport, a band, a barbecue obsession - whatever it is. Drop it below, bonus points for a photo. The owners who build businesses that run without them are the ones who actually have a life outside the business. Start here.

$192,000 a year. From one question.
A telecom bill landed on my desk the size of a phone book. $20,000 for the month. Everyone had been paying it for years because that's just what it cost. I asked why. It was almost all inbound 800-number calls - customers who couldn't figure out how to use what they'd bought. So we made setup videos for every product. Call time dropped 90%. Then I renegotiated the contract to a flat $4,000 a month. $16,000 a month back to the bottom line. $192,000 a year. All because one person asked why the bill was so high instead of just paying it. This is the scoreboard. Post your wins here - the leak you found, the cost you killed, the number you moved. Big or small. We celebrate the people who ask why.

The two-week test
Quick gut-check. Finish this sentence: if I disappeared for two weeks with my phone off, the first thing that would break is ______. That blank is your most important project. It's the thing the business can't run without you - which means it's not really a business yet, it's a job that depends on you showing up. Post your blank below. No judgment. Naming it is step one.

A company billed no one. For eighteen months.
True story. A venture-backed company hired me after they'd burned through millions. The problem? They had no invoicing system. They'd delivered services for eighteen months and never billed a single customer. Nobody asked why the cash wasn't coming in until the cash ran out. Somebody always knows. Somebody always senses something's off. The question is whether anyone asks why out loud before it's too late. Your turn. What's one thing in your business that everyone treats as normal, but nobody can actually explain? Drop it below. Let's ask why together.
