One of the local players around town was showing me how he played I Got You (I Feel Good) by James Brown in his band (no horn section). Essentially, he was doubling the bass line and also imitating the horns at times. Here's a minute of me attempting what he showed me. I think I'd call it a downtown shuffle... or what would you call it?

Apologies, everyone, I have to cancel tonight's live call due to a family emergency. My wife has been back in the hospital, unfortunately. She has scans on Friday and appointments with Gastroenterology next week, so we'll hopefully know more by then.
