IEDS Benefits
Hello all - I really need clarification! I fit all the IEDS requirements. I filed for my benefits to start when I turn 65 (9/8 next month); the ex is 62, still working.
I understood that, now that he is 62, I would get 50% of his PIA, what it would be, at his Full Retirement Age, based on his earnings record (over 35 years at American Airlines.)
However, I have been informed that I will get only 30% of his PIA because he is only 62, that I am not entitled to 50% PIA until he reaches his FRA.
Please clarify?!! Do I have any options?
