As we are wrapping up the year, do you have your plans and goals lined up? Will you be posting more? Will you be filming more content? Will you be pursuing different strategies to collaborate with local vendors? People always say the next year will be the "best year yet," but in reality, it is inevitable to have obstacles, fires, and daily headaches that put a wrench in our plans. How do you plan to overcome it given your experience in 2025?

I made lentils this evening.... my wife looked up form her bowl in amazement, trying to put words to what was in her bowl. She said it filled her soul, it was the kind of meal that could inspire armies, a meal upon which nations could be built. Ok, she was being a bit dramatic but she wasn't wrong. It was one of those meals that stirred you deeply. Eating it wasn't just for satiation, it was for inspiration. It led me to relating to what had happened in this meal to the frequency of energy it represented. This is what came of that reflection... By the way... the recipe: No real recipe, but here is what i did to make the lentils. Lentils, two kinds. Some red potatoes, 1/4'd Two cans of roasted diced tomatoes A bunch of garlic Bacon salt Black Pepper Chicago Fire Spice Blend (Not mine) Matsura Blend (Chef Heart) Chicken Broth Red Onions 4 hours in an Instant Pot A Whisper from the Earth Not all foods shout.Some… hum. When leading your team, what's your holy grail approach? Are you in the trenches with your team or do you allow your team to navigate the business without you most of the time? For me, it's a mix of both. I am always approachable if they need help, but I set expectations and boundaries. I want to see how they shine under pressure and how they handle hard situations (problem-solving). I don't believe in passive aggressive approaches so my communication is usually very upbeat, but also straight-forward if I notice anything that needs improvement. Praise is important to a team! As much as we want to keep order, we must recognize that without our team, the business wouldn't be as fruitful. I send them reviews we receive on Yelp and Google praising our food and services because it's not about me, it's about us all as a whole.
