Human Typewriter Exercise

For this lesson, I used the Human Typewriter Exercise to demonstrate the importance of teamwork.

Each person represented a department in the County. Although their jobs are different they must work together the accomplish the task of providing services to County citizens.

So, when I assigned them letters, those letters became their new “department”. Their new “mission” was to use the human typewriter to type out a sentence on the screen that contained every letter of the alphabet.

No one person could accomplish that task by themselves. It took the entire team to do it. Just like they can’t do the mission of taking care of the citizens of Houston County by themselves in their own department. They must work together in unison and in harmony to accomplish that task.

Lastly, it’s rare that a group gets it perfect on the first try. But they just start over, encourage each other, and work at it till they get it right.
