Alternate language books!
I finished the French and Spanish books! The French ebook is available now and the Spanish ebook is available for preorder. Both paperbooks will be available on June 2nd. It has been such a learning curve. Thankfully I knew people who each spoke the languages, (fluently), they translated the book into for me. Though neither of them were natural born speakers of either language, they each studied the language extensively and taught children in those languages. But I do know that both of them checked with natural born speakers within each language to ensure what they had was correct. It was such a blessing to have them both on my team. 😀And I've added them both to the front of my book as translators of the book. This is a surprise to them. They didn't know I was going to do that. Plus, of course I thank them on the thank you page.
My advice for anyone wanting to produce an alternate language book for your story, use a real human. AI doesn't understand the nuances of language like humans do. Find someone who knows the language, either because it's their first language or because they've studied it extensively and taught it to children. If you don't know anyone in the language you are looking at switching to, ask in all the groups you are in. Find someone you trust.
