Assignment 1: Artist Bio The Prince of Charleston is a hip-hop artist, songwriter, and actor from Charleston, South Carolina. His music is rooted in authenticity, resilience, and purpose, reflecting both his personal journey and the realities of the community that shaped him. Inspired by legendary artists such as André 3000, Kevin Gates, Future, and 2Pac, he considers them icons not only because of their musical success, but because of their ability to inspire, heal, and influence people through their art. Their commitment to storytelling and truth continues to shape his own creative vision. As a hip-hop artist, The Prince of Charleston believes that words carry weight. Music has the power to influence culture, inspire change, and provide hope. He embraces that responsibility by leading with authenticity, integrity, and a commitment to representing his community with pride. Through every song, he strives to create music that not only entertains but also empowers and uplifts those who relate to his story. Assignment 2 Project Title: Counted Me Out Format: Single Counted Me Out is one of my most personal records to date. It's more than a song—it's the soundtrack to years of disappointment, perseverance, and ultimately, self-belief. For more than 30 years, I've poured into others—family, friends, and musical partners—offering support, encouragement, and genuine love without expecting anything in return. But when I needed that same support, I was often met with silence. It felt like my efforts went unnoticed, replaced by quiet competition, distance, and the painful feeling of being counted out by the very people closest to me. Watching family members and peers achieve success, I celebrated every milestone with sincere happiness. Unfortunately, that same energy was rarely returned. I spent years searching for validation from those I loved, only to realize that my worth could never be defined by someone else's recognition. That realization has become an important part of my healing journey.
