Booth rent sounds like freedom set your own hours, no boss, no rules.
But what I’ve seen over and over again is this:
Freedom without structure turns into inconsistency.
Inconsistency turns into average income.
Average income turns into burnout and blame.
Commission, when done right, creates systems, accountability, growth, and real career paths. It forces barbers to level up beyond just cutting hair communication, professionalism, retention, and teamwork actually matter.
I’ve operated both models. One scales. One usually stalls.
