End to End race
Disaster strikes
When disaster strikes it is usually at the most inconvenient time. We were out setting up for our Wed night race. Winds in mid to high teens. Tiller broke! Down sails for jury rig. All good so back at it with carful boat handling. Going round top mark and tiller brakes again so we were done. This weeks job is to repair tiller stronger. Fingers crossed for next race.
Race up day
First leg went well till we found a hole in the wind and slowed two boats to pass. Drat! Well it I sent over till you cross the finish line. Maybe a third place finish. Today is another day. Learn from your past mistakes is the key in all things. You never stop learning. On the water soon.

Storm clouds and wind.
Was out on the boat preparing for our weekly race. The weather was deteriorating around us. Winds buffeted the marina up to 30 kn. gusts. Do we stay at the dock or prepare for high wind race. Here on our lake the weather usually passes quickly. The race committee decided to continue as the winds abated. The race started after a no wind delay. Go figure, feast or famine. Great time for us as we finished first and some of the fleet lost their wind. Life as a sailor on a lake.
