We turned a 30-min interview into a 5- min clear story
Hi everyone 🤍 I just got off a call with a student who interviews professionals, and we looked at a simple way to turn a long interview into a clear, powerful story using actually one of my interviews as an example to demonstrate the below concept. The key insight: People don’t remember information—they remember stories. We used Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey to extract the most important moments and structure them into a short narrative. But here’s why this matters for YOU: This isn’t just about editing videos. This is exactly why people freeze in meetings and presentations. You’re trying to remember everything. There’s no structure. So your mind overloads → and you lose your message. So, an impoertant structure in storytelling IS THE HERO'S JOURNEY. Remember: Structure replaces overthinking. You stay clear, present, and in control—even under pressure. 🎥 I broke this down in a Loom here: https://www.loom.com/share/5bd46ea0586d4910be8ea0128ed36f23 Hero's Journey Structure Broken Down: https://heroinejourneys.com/joseph-campbells-heros-journey-arc/ ChatGPT prompts I used: "pull up the phrases from this interview and put them in the hero's journey structure" Reference to the interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M35AruAJaSo

Free Training Completion Milestone!!
I wanted to share that I've successfully completed the Free Training Library and will be moving on to the Mini Course!! :) The most eye-opening video for me was "The Hidden Cost of Over-Explaining". In the past, I had a lot of issues feeling the need to over-explain myself, accommodate others, etc. It's empowering to know that I can continue to make progress in staying concise with my communication to effectively embody my unique authority. The final video in the series, "I Don't Have Anything Valuable To Say", covers the issue that I still likely struggle most with, overcoming thoughts of self-doubt when I try to speak up and share my ideas in group settings. I look forward to learning more of the tools and developing my confidence and a system to combat this in the Mini Course! :) I discovered Alice on YouTube in 2024. In August 2025, I took the leap into working with her one-on-one because her unique approach resonates so well with my own interests and values, including her focus on yoga and wellness. Since working with her, I have seen drastic improvements in my mental outlook and interpersonal communication. People notice it too. Friends and family told me they noticed changes :) I'm excited to be here in the community and keep learning!! Jake✨
