Start Here... Step 1... What are your goals?
I am very goal orientated (I actually struggle to get anything done unless the goal is written down) so I want you to to get the most out of this group and I want to help you get there. Is it just to run every day down the block? Fully recover from injuries? Run 5k or a 10k? Whatever it is we all want to know so we can cheer you on, help you out, get you answers and grow together! I'll go first!
Still going 2-3k a day
Running daily, now that I got new shoes my ankle pain has almost gone completely away! So that is good. Getting really cold out now haha so running a bit on the treadmill in the morning. Might get a pass at the rec centre just to get out of the house. What does eveyone else do in the winter?
2k today
Already got it done! Took breaks but happy with the progress 500m walk 500 run X4 Had a lot more endurance today. Felt like I could go a lot more but no reason to push it and injure myself even more haha Looking forward to tomorrow
2k today
Creatine
I'm sure some of you might have heard about creatine - a supplement that a lot of bodybuilders will use to help build up more muscle. BUT - are you missing out by not taking creatine as a runner? Creatine has many positive benefits for runners - it helps maintain and build muscle mass, improve your short burst energy (sprints, stairs, hills), helps with recovery, and can have positive effects on brain health (promising studies on positive effects when it comes to preventing alzheimer's, and helping with depression) Here's a video I made going more in-depth on creatine, and if you should take it: https://youtu.be/moKdvopyzTQ If you have any other questions feel free to comment below!
5K today with a 1k run
Got some new shoes! And I am finding that it has been helping reduce the pain in my ankle. Got in a quick run today. Walked a lot. Rainy day but that was OK. Looking forward to the ankle getting better and better.
