Google's NotebookLM is one of the most underrated AI tools out there. Free, powerful, and almost nobody talks about it.
Here's what I did:
1. Uploaded a 40-page vendor contract I needed to review
2. Asked: "What are the termination clauses and penalties?"
3. Got a summary with direct quotes and page references in 30 seconds
Then I asked follow-up questions like:
- "What are my obligations in section 4?"
- "Are there any auto-renewal terms?"
- "Summarize the liability limitations"
It handles PDFs, Google Docs, YouTube videos, and websites. You can throw in multiple sources and it synthesizes them.
The podcast feature is wild too. It generates a fake podcast episode discussing your documents. Sounds goofy but it's actually great for absorbing dense material while you're driving or working out.
I used to spend half a day reviewing contracts. Now it's under an hour.
What long documents or research are you sitting on that you've been avoiding? Drop it below and I'll show you how to tackle it with NotebookLM.
