Use Kimi K2 in claude code

Because they reduced the usage, I have been hitting limits much sooner on claude max plan recently

One solution i found (both coding and marketing tasks)

is to use kimi k2 model inside of claude code

you get almost the same functionality and can still get lots done.

here is how

you can follow the directions there or get claude code to do the setup for you , that is easiest

then give it your openrouter api key, the name of kimi k2 model in openrouter

then once it is set up you can run ccr code and it will run claude code app but with kimi k2 as the model doing the work.

you will need to set the model once you are inside claude code /model openrouter,moonshotai/kimi-k2

make some commands and check your openrouter activity to make sure it is hitting the kimi model in open router

now every time your claude code runs out, just open a new claude code with kimi and continue working !

you will have to pay for api usage but it is 1/3 of price or less even than gemini or top models.
