Cape Town AI Mastermind: Behind the Scenes
In February, I spent a week in Cape Town, SA with some of the top AI entrepreneurs in the space for a mastermind. We had hundreds of community members join us. I met some amazing people and left feeling so energized and inspired. Which is why I've been uploading almost daily lately, haha! Anyways, just dropped a behind the scenes vlog if you're interested in checking it out. AIS is planning on doing big events and meetups regularly, so if this trip looked like fun, stay tuned for events in the future!

Since joining, he and his team have: • Built their own property-management SaaS using Claude Code + Lovable • Expanded the software for additional residential complexes in Cyprus • Signed a long-term AI documentation project with a new client • Turned that client relationship into both a monthly retainer AND equity in the company One of the biggest lessons Jan shared: You can learn tools from YouTube…But you can’t replace having helpful people around you when things get difficult.

$1,760 monthly retainer
Leverage is a great thing to have. And once you have it, it makes things a lot easier. I'm in a position right now where I have a $1,760 monthly retainer. It's not $5k, but here's what it does for me. I have enough room for multiple one-off clients every single week. And in those conversations I now come with massive leverage. I don't need to say yes to a $100 contract. I can set a floor at $1,000 or more for each deal. The more leads I generate every week, the higher the contract values I can go after. And because I don't need the contract, I get to decide if I want to move forward or not. That is the best kind of leverage. As a side note, I'm already building more leverage through LinkedIn and my YouTube channel. So if I keep going, I'll be in a pretty good spot by the end of the year. All because of the seeds I planted 6 months ago.

Day 5 Website Builder - Learning
Just got my first business website live — gethotlineai.com Built it with Claude Code over the last few days. Zero prior web dev experience. The site is for Hotline AI — an AI speed-to-lead service for car dealerships that responds to internet leads in under 60 seconds. Biggest hack: Having Claude screenshot the site, compare it to a reference, and iterate until it matched — no guessing, no back and forth with myself. Just: screenshot → diff → fix → repeat. What surprised me most: The hardest part wasn't the code. It was the DNS. Spent more time fighting Namecheap and Vercel than I did building the actual site. But that's the real education — you don't know what you don't know until something breaks. Site is live, form submissions go to my business email, custom domain is connected. Onto the next.
