In the beginning at Webbility, we wanted to build the most advanced AI features possible. If it was technical and flashy, we wanted it.
I've since realized that was a mistake.
Now, we have a rule: If a feature doesn't have a direct line to ROI or Time Saved for the client, it doesn't get built.
- A chatbot that 'talks well' is a toy.
- A chatbot that qualifies leads and pushes them into a CRM while the owner sleeps is an asset.
Clients don't buy code; they buy their time back.
Question for the builders: How do you handle clients who keep asking for 'shiny' features that you know won't actually help their bottom line? Do you build it anyway, or do you push back?
