Why Do Most AI Roadmaps Fail Before Execution?
Most AI roadmaps fail because they assume alignment already exists. An AI Audit often ends with a clean sequence of initiatives, but sequencing is not strategy. What matters is whether incentives, risk ownership, and decision authority move together. When they don’t, the roadmap becomes a fiction everyone agrees to follow, until reality intervenes.
AI Transformation does not stall on technology. It stalls when no one can clearly answer who is accountable when the model is wrong, or when AI conflicts with revenue, compliance, or customer trust. Audits that ignore these tensions produce plans that look credible and collapse quietly.
For practitioners, the test is simple: if your roadmap can survive one hard question about failure, escalation, and blame, it might be real. If not, the audit has only postponed the reckoning.
