Why an “AI Champion” Is Not Enough
Many organizations believe appointing an AI Champion solves the problem. It doesn’t.
AI transformation does not fail because no one is enthusiastic. It fails because decision rights are unclear.
An AI Champion can advocate, experiment, and educate. But they cannot replace governance.
When AI decisions cross departments, budgets, or risk boundaries, someone must define escalation paths, override rules, and ownership.
Without that structure, the AI Champion becomes a translator, not a driver.
AI scales behavior. If authority is fragmented, AI will amplify the fragmentation.
