AI isn't a question for 2026. It's the new baseline.
→ 88% of organizations now use AI — up from 78% the year before (Stanford AI Index 2026). → 70% use generative AI in at least one business function (same report). → Among companies deploying AI, 88% say it's already lifting revenue and 87% report cost reductions (NVIDIA State of AI 2026).
But here's what's accelerating.
NVIDIA's 2026 report found 44% of companies are now deploying or assessing agentic AI — autonomous systems that plan, reason, and act across multi-step workflows. Telecom leads at 48%, retail and CPG at 47%. Two years ago this was a research demo. Today it's a budget line.
And the budget line is growing: 86% of organizations say their AI spend will increase in 2026, with nearly 40% planning to grow it by 10% or more.
For business owners, the opportunity in 2026 isn't "should I adopt AI." That question is over. The opportunity is in how you adopt. Workflows automated correctly. Customer interactions handled by agents that actually help. Operations that scale without scaling headcount.
A few things worth sitting with:
- The cheapest moment to adopt AI is before your competitor does.
- Adoption is at 88%. Effective adoption is much rarer — and that's where the upside lives.
- Adoption isn't the win. Execution is.
