Question: Do Voice Agents Need to Disclose They’re AI in the U.S.?
Hey everyone,I’ve got a quick question regarding AI voice agents and compliance.
One of my U.S. based clients wants to build a voice agent for their business. The question is it legally required for the AI to introduce itself as an assistant like (Hi, this is an AI assistant, how can I help you?) or can it just start the conversation naturally for example, “Hi, how can I help you today?” without mentioning it’s AI?
Basically, we’re wondering whether it’s legally necessary or just a best practice to disclose that it’s not a human.
Would love to hear from others who’ve built or deployed voice agents in the U.S. How do you handle this disclosure part?
Thanks in advance! 🙌
