Production Planning and Inventory Control (PPIC) process

AI has the potential to revolutionize many industrial processes, and I am particularly enthusiastic about its applications in the industrial sector. I work in the food industry, where I can see how AI could significantly streamline the Production Planning and Inventory Control (PPIC) process, saving a tremendous amount of time. The PPIC team is responsible for planning, production scheduling, inventory control, and ensuring that materials are available to meet production demands.

AI could automate the following steps in the PPIC process:

Receiving sales forecasts (Typically in an Excel file).
Checking raw material inventory levels (Excel files or SQL databases).
Checking finished goods inventory levels (Excel files or SQL databases).
Checking ordered goods levels that are in transit.
Checking goods that are currently being produced
Generating new purchase orders for required materials.
Providing optimized production planning schedules to the factory manager.

I’ve searched for similar projects on YouTube but haven’t found any relevant examples. Do you have any suggestions for tools, platforms, or case studies that could help me explore this further?
