I need some advice from experienced people here.
I’ve been working with a local service business client (landscaping) for around 2 months.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:– Built a full website– Optimized Google Business Profile– Created directories/listings– Helped with content & basic branding– Started improving SEO
Results so far:– Google ranking improved from position 27 → 16– Website is getting impressions and clicks– Online presence is clearly improving
But the client says:👉 “No calls = no results”👉 Claims rankings are from his own reviews👉 Thinks I’m not doing much👉 Now asking for extra work (logo, flyer, etc.)
The problem:He expects fast results (calls within 1–2 months), but as we all know, SEO takes time.
I already explained:– This is organic growth– It usually takes 3–4+ months– Competitors have older domains, more backlinks
Still, he doesn’t seem convinced.
So my questions:
- How do you handle clients who only judge by immediate calls?
- Do you continue working and educate them… or walk away?
- How do you set boundaries when they keep asking for extra work outside scope?
I want to grow long-term, but I also don’t want to work with clients who don’t value the process.
Would really appreciate honest advice 🙏
