🚨 Looking for Assistance with n8n + Zoho CRM Automation 🚨
Hey everyone,
I’ve been building an automation in n8n that connects to Zoho CRM, and I’ve hit a bottleneck that I’d love some help on.
Here’s the short version:
  • The workflow involves a voice AI receptionist.
  • Part of the flow needs to update an existing contact in Zoho CRM.
  • To update, I need the Zoho contact ID.
  • The only info I reliably have is the user’s phone number.
Right now, my workaround is:
  • I use an AI agent to fetch all Zoho contacts, then try to match the phone number to the contact ID.
  • This technically works in my demo account with a small dataset…
  • But in production with 9,000+ contacts, this approach will 100% fail (too heavy, AI can’t parse all that data).
💡 The problem: I need a much more efficient way to query Zoho for a contact ID using just a phone number, instead of fetching all contacts.
👉 Has anyone here worked with Zoho CRM + n8n and solved this type of issue? Ideally, I’d like to directly search Zoho CRM by phone number (instead of brute forcing with AI).
Any pointers, modules, or API tricks would be hugely appreciated 🙏
