Does Claude Need an Index File for Obsidian?

I’m currently setting up my AIOS. I’ve already been using Obsidian for a while. In his video, Nate mentions that he keeps the `claude.md` file up to date so that Claude doesn't have to search too much. But how does Claude find the information in the Obsidian vault without a lengthy search? Do you have to maintain an index file, or how do you optimize this?
