Codex OAuth plugins fail on Windows with “Error launching app” after account selection
Hey everyone, I’m new to Codex and I’m stuck on a Windows OAuth issue I can’t get past.
When I try to connect plugins like HighLevel or other OAuth-based connectors, I get the same error every time after selecting my Google account:
  • Error launching app
  • Unable to find Electron app at C:\Program...\oauth_callback?...
  • Cannot find module 'C:\Program...\oauth_callback?...'
What I’ve already tried:
  • Reset Codex
  • Fully uninstalled and reinstalled Codex
  • Rebooted my computer
  • Set Chrome as my default browser
  • Closed all browsers before retrying
  • Checked Windows Default Apps, and codex is already mapped to Codex
So far it looks like the OAuth callback is failing after account selection, and it happens across multiple plugins, not just one.
If anyone has run into this on Windows and found a fix, I’d really appreciate the help. If there’s a specific Windows setting, protocol handler, or Codex workaround I should check, please point me in the right direction.
Thanks.
