An HR AI Bot on Microsoft Teams

Hi everyone 👋

I'm Mani, a Product Manager based in Dubai. I'm working on an exciting AI project for our organization and looking for technical guidance or collaborators.

🤖 The Idea: An HR AI Bot on Microsoft Teams

Here's the concept:

- Employees open Microsoft Teams and chat with an AI-powered HR assistant

- The bot answers HR policy questions in natural language (leave policy, travel allowance, working hours, etc.)

- It also connects to our HRMS platform (ZingHR) to fetch live personal data like leave balance, payslips, and attendance

- Authentication happens through Azure Active Directory so the bot knows who is asking

🛠️ Planned Tech Stack:

- Microsoft Azure Bot Service (Teams integration)

- OpenAI GPT-4 or Claude API (the AI brain)

- RAG pipeline for HR policy PDFs (Azure AI Search or LlamaIndex)

- ZingHR API for live employee data

- Python for the backend logic

📌 Where I am right now:

- The concept and architecture are defined

- Phase 1 is policy-only (no live HRMS data), just to prove the concept

- Phase 2 adds ZingHR live data

🙋 What I need help with:

- Anyone who has built a Teams bot with Azure Bot Framework

- Experience with RAG pipelines on HR documents

- HRMS API integration (ZingHR or similar platforms)

- General advice on what pitfalls to avoid

I'm not a developer myself, but I understand the architecture well. I'm happy to collaborate, share learnings, or just get pointed in the right direction.
