"AI Makes You Vulnerable to Propaganda" - Why This Misses How Agendas Actually Spread
Someone posted that losing the skill of thinking for yourself and doing research makes you "insanely vulnerable to propaganda." They said to form your own thoughts. I agree on thinking for yourself, but disagree on the propaganda part.
Here's what they're missing: agendas won't be spread through AI use - they'll be spread through very deliberate mongering tactics. AI's main use case is answering inquiries, not forming moral judgments or making major decisions.
The people utilizing AI for decision making will be left in the dust. But here's the thing - it's better to have a positive view on AI than a cynical one. So far, it's doing more good than bad from an operational perspective.
AI will help accelerate solving human inconveniences across the board. The real threat isn't AI making people lazy thinkers - it's people not understanding the difference between using AI for efficiency vs using it for judgment.
Think about it: if someone's consuming propaganda, they're already not thinking critically. AI doesn't create that vulnerability - it just reveals who was already susceptible to begin with.
The solution isn't avoiding AI - it's learning to use it properly. Use AI for research and information gathering, but keep the critical thinking and decision making human. That's how you stay sharp while gaining efficiency.
Hope you found this valuable! :)
