A Digital Building Consultant Agent

I'm working on something I think has real potential and want your input.

A little bit about myself, I have been working in building management system/ building automation for the last 8 years and now I'm moving towards digital twins in Australia.

🏢 THE IDEA: A Digital Building Consultant Agent

Imagine an AI agent that acts as a senior building systems consultant — always available, always up to date, and specialized in:

• BMS (Building Management System) — controls, integration, commissioning

• HVAC — design, optimization, fault detection

• Energy management & analytics

• BACnet, Modbus, Tridium/JACE, Siemens, Honeywell, JCI and other protocols/platforms

• Compliance — ASHRAE, local codes, sustainability standards

• And anything else that connects to the built environment

The agent would be built on Claude, with web search for live updates, and fed a knowledge base of real project experience, standards, lessons learned, and field expertise. Essentially a digital twin of a seasoned BMS/HVAC professional.

I think the best way to build this is:

1️⃣ Start with a Claude-powered artifact (chat interface) with a specialized BMS system prompt

2️⃣ Layer in web search so it pulls current standards, products, and industry news

3️⃣ Feed it a personal knowledge base — project notes, case studies, troubleshooting logs

4️⃣ Connect it to transcription — so after every site visit, meeting or interview, lessons learned go straight into the agent (planning to have a like a web base in the background Auto transcript that every time I want something to be transcript just press it and then it will automatically link to Google drive link to Claude)

5️⃣ Eventually expand into a full platform — digital building consultant anyone in the industry can use

🔁 IDEAL WORKFLOW:

Record experience → Transcribe → Feed to agent → Agent improves → Agent advises on next project. A continuous learning loop.
