Today I’m gonna talk about something important.
Something I see a lot of founders miss:
Not competing on their offer.
At the heart of it, an offer is nothing more than a ‘value vehicle’ to get prospects to their desired outcome.
The word "vehicle" is key because it implies that it carries or transports them to the outcome.
So, the LESS they have to think, do, and spend their time and money, the BETTER your offer will be.
And the offer is the ‘tip of the spear’ for your service.
There are four common categories your offer falls under,
Let’s break them down together:
1. BUILD - “We’ll build this [solution] to deliver this [outcome]”
Here, you’re offering to build something, which implies it will take a lot of work and time.
✖️ Making your prospect resist, thinking: “ugh, this will be slow and expensive.”
(Stay away from this offer if you want leads.)
2. BECOME - “You’ll become [ideal self] with our [service]”
Here, you’re offering a transformation. The chance to ‘become’ someone of higher status/value.
✔ Your prospect's imagination will take flight. Channeling desire, making this a very attractive offer.
3. DO - “You just need to do this ONE thing (simple action) and you’ll get [outcome]”
✔ Damn that sounds good doesn’t it? An offer with a simple step removes all the resistance. Drawing in your prospects.
4. TAKE - “Take this [solution] and get [outcome]”
✔ Zero effort required. Immediate benefit. Now you’re really in the game.
After marketing products and services for 4+ years, this took me far too long to figure out:
The offer is the needle that moves the entire haystack.
Your offer isn't just what you deliver…
It's a ‘value vehicle’ transporting prospects to their desired outcome.
The smoother the ride, the more they'll pay for the ticket.
