I’ve been in fb ads for a good while, and have also been with most of the gurus. It sounds like, if I’m right here, you’re suggesting: 1. Fb ads -> newsletter (novella or novel or something enticing) 2. Build further fb ads (traffic) off lookalike audiences from the signups? 3. Get good at nurturing readers in newsletter (most authors aren’t great at this, myself included so far) Do I have that about right? Because that’s actually my big 2026 plan (along with introducing Amazon ads to balance out).
Stupid Question Incoming
I'm very familiar with facebook ads, but excited to learn more. Apologies for the stupid question but... how do you actually access the Level 2 or Level 3 classes? I've completed the previous ones, but haven't seen anywhere as to how I'm supposed to unlock them. On a side note, since my traffic ads straight to Amazon have spiraled, I'm actually doing some testing with server side tracking + pixel. Directing to super simple landing page with a button straight to Amazon. Hoping that this'll help me target the right psych thriller readers, and send the right kind of traffic to Amazon. I'll be happy to post an update here on how it goes!

@Nita Round thank you so much! Had no idea, first time using Skool hah.
Your Favorite Creative Might Be the One That Flops
Here’s the thing about running ads. Authors fall in love with their creatives. We all do. I ALWAYS have a favorite. The dramatic cover, the moody aesthetic, the “this is SO my book” vibe… But the market doesn’t care what we think looks amazing. The market decides what converts. I’ve seen stunning art underperform, I have seen the image I took FOREVER to create flop, and the simplest, least “special” creative outperform everything by a mile. That’s why testing isn’t optional, it protects you from your own bias. One creative is an opinion. Depending on spend, 3 - 10 creatives is data. How many creatives are testing at one time?

I try to test about 5-10 creatives a week, spinning off additional ads with copies, headlines, etc. I've had one style work for one book, and another style work for a different book! It's kind of russian roulette, but with creatives haha

@Rich Gomez I'm actually pivoting slightly to test server side (+ pixel) tracking, pushing from fb ads -> landing page -> amazon. Crossing my fingers that somehow I'll be able to get a better signal on the conversion rate, and send more relevant traffic to amazon as well. I'm not hopeful though. If you go to facebook ads on reddit, you'll see people who have mastered fb ads really struggling with all of the AI/Andromeda/GEM updates.
Coffee chat today!
We'll see you then! Who is coming and who is excited!

Haven't made any just yet, and while I won't be able to today, crossing my fingers I'll be able to make future ones. (Just learned that there are coffee chats today!)
