PASSED MY CSCS EXAM!
Hello everyone! I was part of the original cohort in 2025, and today I passed my CSCS exam! I would like to give a huge thank you to Dr. Goodin and a few of my classmates (they know who they are) for helping me throughout this journey. I failed both the Scientific Foundations and Practical/Applied sections on my first attempt back in February. My advice to anyone still working toward passing is: don’t worry about how many attempts it takes, and don’t compare your journey to those who passed on their first attempt. Let gaining knowledge and truly understanding the material be what drives you to keep going. A few things that helped me: Trust your gut. Understand why, not just what. Study Dr. Goodin’s study guides.

@Matt Mosher thank you, you’re next!
Test Retake
A month or so ago, I had passed the practical portion of the CSCS, but failed the science portion by one point. I am retaking it next week! Any tips going into it? I have been watching all of the science related videos @Jacob Goodin has put out and practicing on Brainscape.

No pressure, I think you already passed the more difficult portion of the test. Keep going you got this.
CSCS Daily Practice Question #96
A youth athlete begins a resistance training program. Which factor would most directly stimulate increased bone mineral density in response to the training stimulus? A. Increased mechanical stress on bone from heavy loads, stimulating osteoblast activity B. Increased rest periods between training sessions to allow bone formation C. Increased calcium supplementation independent of training load Answer in the poll, then explain your rationale below in the comments! I'll follow up with my breakdown of the question after enough people have responded. From Chapter 1: Structure and Function of Body Systems DCO Code: 1.D1 NOTE: Image is for illustration purposes, not needed to answer the question.

Loading the musculoskeletal system with heavy weights above minimal strain will stimulate osteoblasts.
CSCS Daily Practice Question #99
A track athlete requires increased vertical jump power. Which training approach would optimally develop the crossbridge cycling rate and explosive force production necessary for vertical jump performance? A. Plyometric exercises and explosive movements with moderate loads executed at high velocity B. Slow, controlled movements with maximum loads to maximize force development C. Light resistance with prolonged time under tension to enhance muscular endurance Answer in the poll, then explain your rationale below in the comments! I'll follow up with my breakdown of the question after enough people have responded. Plyo training & high velocity movements enhance RFD, and cross bridge cycling. Which improves power output.
CSCS Daily Practice Question #94
An endurance athlete undergoes 12 weeks of high-volume aerobic training. Which cardiovascular adaptation would most improve oxygen delivery to Type I muscle fibers during submaximal exercise? A. Increased stroke volume, delivering more oxygenated blood per heartbeat B. Increased capillary density around Type I fibers, reducing diffusion distance for oxygen C. Decreased arteriovenous oxygen difference, reducing metabolic demand Answer in the poll, then explain your rationale below in the comments! I'll follow up with my breakdown of the question after enough people have responded. From Chapter 1: Structure and Function of Body Systems DCO Code: 1.G1 NOTE: Image is for illustration purposes, not needed to answer the question.

Due to an increase in capillaries, oxygen is able to diffuse at a shorter distance. Also more oxygen towards working muscles.
