THE PATH TO SUCCESS IS THROUGH MANY TINY FAILURES
If you are a perfectionist set on 100% perfection then you are doomed to big failure in improvisation! The path TO excellent improvisation is THROUGH many tiny mistakes. Thousands of them! My friend Pat said he became excellent in improvising in Spanish only after he set a goal to make 30 mistakes a day. What do you think would happen to your improv improvement if you started making at minimum 30 mistakes a day?

There are vast numbers of failures that any person can learn from and begin then keep pushing forward.

Is improvising an advanced skill?
Improvising "well" may be an advanced skill, but I do not believe improvising is an advanced skill. Improvising is a "do or do not." The more skilled you are on your instrument the more nuanced your improvised expressions with it can be. What do you think?

Improvising is a great skill to progress as an musician in which we can all be creative with unique sounds that opens a platform to showcase audibly and visually our personalities.
