Thanks for all the great videos, Floss. See you next season .... and, on the bright side, it's only 5 weeks until the nights start drawing in again ! A bientôt :)
Last working day of 2025/26

Avalanche deaths have surged in the Alps this season. Here’s why | Johan Gaume https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/apr/29/avalanche-deaths-surged-alps-this-season-heres-why?CMP=share_btn_url I thought this was an interesting read.
Daftest way to get an injury on a ski trip
We’ve all been taken out by a snowboarder or over-confident teen skier or tripped on the stairs down to the mountain cafe lol. But most of my injuries have been daft. Annoyingly, each time, hitting my poor right shoulder. 1) Falling off the top of the Grand Pré chairlift and getting knocked over by the chair; 2) slipping on wooden decking outside a ski cafe; 3) slipping over on a wet patch on the floor of a hotel garage, where the lockers were situated. I’m sure there are much better stories…

Yes, I can identify with this: I had just arrived in my Meribel hotel a couple of years ago and was unpacking. Dropped an odd sock on the floor, bent down to pick it up and when straightening up again whacked my forehead with real venom against the door-frame, causing blood to flood out. Next day (first day's supposed skiing) was spent in Albertville A&E. Bleeding so profuse that a big fat compression bandage had to be applied, which meant that my helmet wouldn't fit on my head! So, I had to fork out for a new helmet. On the bright side, once all was sorted, the skiing was superb :)

Sounds pretty good out there! Amazing how it can change: my last two visits to Tignes were both the first week of May (last week of the season) and temps were perfect. Nothing like cruising lazily down Génepi on a cold, sunny, spring morning :)
Who is skiiing in the next few weeks?
I can`t believe that it is the 11th snow report of the season. This is winter is flying ...and there is a lot more snow to come 😁. GET READY !!!! Who iw skiing in the next few weeks?
