Hey everybody I wanted to share that I recently have been faced with liver disease/injury from medication, and I'm looking at 3-6 months of recovery. It's a story in of itself, but the message is clear - we are what's most important in our journey. Don't put your music, art, or creative drive above your health and self-preservation. I'm hitting pause for a wee minute, but I had been going full throttle all the while practically ignoring warning signs my body was giving. Hopefully my story and message can serve as a reminder to take care of ourselves. Unfortunately I don't think my "Crazy" remix will be getting submitted, but I'll share it when I get back to it. One thing I really want to share with this group is a book I just recently got and have been reading that has been a major gamechanger for me. It's called "The 4D Songwriter-How to Dominate the New Music Industry" by Jayson John Evans. He's also got a free e-book titled "8 Music Marketing Myths" which was the first thing that helped me get out from underneath the heavy downward feeling that much of my effort in marketing has been going nowhere and losing me money. Just booked my 13th appointment with KJ, can't believe it's been a full year already! I gotta say though, I have a completely new respect for the "grind" behind making music. Not the music itself but the process of getting it into ears and how the amount effort that goes into marketing can be greater than the effort that went into the composition itself. My journey is probably not too far off from most of yall, although I'm not a drummer, nor do I make much dnb. I've spent years trying different mentorships and online classes, nothing against the others, but I never really felt the support like I do here, and not just from KJ but all EYC members. If you're on the fence about EYC, I can vouch for it. KJ's a great guy and he's got a really awesome program here. If you're looking for a place that you can learn and grow your craft or expand your brand, in a judgement-free, supportive setting, then this is the place for you. Thanks KJ and EYC fam.
