Steers: ever experienced washriding?
Had someone on your wash? Been on someone else's wash? How was it? Was it what you expected? And how would you describe it to someone who's never felt it?

Happens all the time in 2km’s. Can run into it as well when you have a large number of lanes in use. I find your team has to be practiced in being ready for quick power to jump on the wash and also at times to push to stay on the wash. But once you are riding… great energy saver. Some teams use it to save energy and then bust out at the end for the win. And a direct cross over to outrigger and riding bumps. Use physics to make your life easier.
Who's going to CanAms?
Anyone coming to Montreal for the CanAms in July? We should meet up!

I’ll be there with Diane with Evolution Paddling Club. Montreal is a great city and a great venue.
High Fives to Cory, Nicole, Lesley + Christina!!
We recently launched the Level 2 Steering Course as a beta. Thanks so much to @Cory Graham @Nicole Herlofsky @Lesley Blyth and @Christina Potter for completing all the classroom modules, doing the homework, showing up to the calls, taking the final exam, and giving us SO much incredible feedback. They're now ready to implement their new race steering know-how and get ready for the assessment. While they're doing that, @Joann Fegley and I will be filling the holes they found in our curriculum. Like - how to practice for a 2K turn if you don't have access to a 2K course or turning corridor. How to handle washriding.. either as the boat on the wash or the one dragging another on your wash. How to handle being cut off in a race, or the shenanigans that always occur when steering inexperienced crews at charity races. The rest of you can help us improve it too - what questions do you have about race steering?

Let's get the entire world covered shall we? In the meantime, please help me welcome @Shea Akers @Misfa Ahmed @Patricia Schafer @Henry Viets @Henry Zheng @Johnalee Slavin @Shelley Franz and @Kimberly Sheffield!! (Folks, feel free to make an intro post and tell us where you're from, what your team role is, what you love about the sport, basically anything that will help us get to know you better!)
