I have a question❤️
When you first realized there was something different about your child, what were you noticing they were or were not doing? What did you want to learn most at that moment? If you could tell a new mom anything about to help their child early what would it be?

I think Kelce was 18 months when I really knew there was something different. My oldest did everything early so it was hard not compare. Kelce’s speech also sounded so different. The more language she began to have then I noticed it was nearly all scripting, which as a special education teacher felt so familiar. It took me a long time to say out loud that I thought she was autistic.

@Katie Lents don’t wait for intervention, trust your gut. The pediatrician insisted on waiting until she was older.
November training- Behavior and regulation
Behavior In early childhood is understanding why kids do what they do, determining the why, honoring the child where they are at developmentally, and teaching new behaviors. Next training will be on behavior and regulation. What are your current questions that I can answer in this training! Tailoring it to YOU! ❤️

@Katie Lents @Olivia Otero we embed them into all of our routines! Countdowns or Songs: Predictable transition cues (e.g., “Clean Up Song”). Movement Integration: Let students “hop like a bunny” or “tiptoe like a mouse” to the next spot. Transition Object: Small fidget or visual cue to hold during transition for security. Staff Support Roles: One adult leads, another supports individuals with higher regulation needs. - Interactive Emotion Books: Label feelings of characters and connect to their own experiences. - Weighted Lap Pad or Chair Bands: For sensory seekers needing grounding. - Rhythm Regulation: Drumming or clapping activities for sensory-motor integration. - Freeze Dance: Teaches impulse control and body awareness. - Emotion Songs: Singing about happy, sad, or calm feelings. - Rhythm Regulation: Drumming or clapping activities for sensory-motor integration. - Freeze Dance: Teaches impulse control and body awareness. - Emotion Songs: Singing about happy, sad, or calm feelings.

Ok everyone, with the recent poll it turns out that 830pm (MST) will be the timeframe for our Q&A. So we will plan to have live Q&A on Wednesday 10/8/25!! I have received a couple questions but if you like to ask more, go ahead. And yes you’ll be able to talk and chat during the call! Everyone bring a cozy drink(tea, coffee, wine, whatever floats your boat as you wind down the night) and come prepared to just relax in the comfort of people who get it❤️
