It turns out I’m human
And I can really only restructure one community at a time. Please excuse my absence. This club will benefit from the things I've learned on how to host a community…. See you soon

Neuro-Somatic Mindfulness…
or NSM is a form of meditation I forgot to mention and that closely resembles Yoga Nidra. It's be popularized by Dr. Fleet Maull. If you want to hear Dr Maull’s story I recommend u find the podcast named in the screenshot i’ve provided. I want everyone to know I am neither advocating nor demonizing psychedelics. This is a personal choice I would never want to influence. What I do recommend is Yoga Nidra for de-stressing and energizing when doesn't have time to nap. It takes about ten minutes and Dr Andrew Huberman has a very good example on youtube. Below is ChatGPT provided instruction on NSM. Anytime we employ mindfulness we can only benefit. If you try NSM please let us know what you think. Here’s how Dr. Fleet Maull teaches embodiment practice — step-by-step, in his mindfulness and neuro-somatic training style: 🧘‍♂️ 1️⃣ Pause and Arrive - Stop whatever you’re doing. - Take one or two slow breaths. - Feel gravity: your feet on the ground, your seat on the chair. - Let your awareness drop from your head into your body. - He often says: “Feel the ground supporting you — the earth is holding you up.” 🌬️ 2️⃣ Breathe with Awareness - Bring attention to the natural rhythm of your breath. - Don’t change it — just notice where you feel it most (nose, chest, or belly). - This reconnects the nervous system to the present moment, engaging parasympathetic calm. 🩶 3️⃣ Sense Your Whole Body - Scan from head to toe: tension, warmth, pulsing, tingling. - Feel the aliveness of the body rather than labeling it. - Maull says, “Awareness itself is healing.” - This step grounds mindfulness in the body instead of floating in thought. ⚖️ 4️⃣ Open and Relax - Loosen where you notice contraction (shoulders, jaw, belly). - Don’t force it — just invite softness. - The goal is “relaxed alertness,” not floppy or rigid. - He calls this the “sweet spot of presence.” 🔄 5️⃣ Integrate Movement - During walking, driving, or even working, keep awareness anchored in posture and breath. - Notice micro-tensions or holding patterns. - He calls this “embodied flow” — mindfulness in motion.

I'm familiar with the Telepath Tapes, @Jes Solo. They're very interesting stories and I have reason to want to believe such things are true. TBH, there were several things in later episodes that raised all kinds of red flags for me.

That IS interesting! It seems to me that we're learning a lot from autism, @Jes Solo, from how our brains work (or don't) to (potentially) skills we can acquire like telepathy. Having seen how much the world and our understanding has changed in the last 50 years, I think we're on the cusp of incredible new perspectives and ways of being in the world in the coming 50, in part because we are taking conditions like autism much more seriously.
The Benefits of Stillness
Immerse yourself in the tranquil world of deer. Watch as these graceful creatures move through the forest, embodying a quiet strength and a deep connection to nature. What can we learn from them as humans?..?

WOW @Jes Solo! Curiosity and the drive hunger can provide might be important lessons to learn from such a visit!

6 Reasons Ppl Avoid Meditation 🪷
(Even Though It Could Change Their Life) Can you relate to any of these? 1️⃣ We Think It’s Supposed to Look a Certain Way Most ppl imagine meditation as sitting cross-legged in silence for hours. Truth is, it can be as simple as breathing deeply for a minute, walking mindfully, or reflecting on a single question. We avoid it because we think we’re doing it wrong—but there is no “wrong” way to be present. 2️⃣ We’re Addicted to Distraction Our brains are wired to chase stimulation. Phones, social media, constant noise—these give us tiny hits of dopamine. Meditation feels like the opposite: no scrolling, no sound, no reward. That stillness feels uncomfortable at first, so we fill it with something else. 3️⃣ We Fear What We Might Feel Stillness brings up what we’ve buried. Emotions, regrets, thoughts we’ve avoided—meditation surfaces them. It’s easier to stay busy than to face ourselves. But ironically, the only way to truly release that heaviness is to feel it. 4️⃣ We Expect Instant Results In a world of “quick fixes,” meditation feels slow. We expect enlightenment by week two. But meditation isn’t a race—it’s a relationship. The benefits build quietly, like roots growing underground before a tree breaks the surface. 5️⃣ We Don’t Know Where to Start With so many apps, teachers, and styles—mindfulness, transcendental, contemplative—it can feel overwhelming. The truth? Just start with one minute of awareness. Notice your breath. Notice your body. That’s already meditation. 6️⃣ We Mistake Silence for Emptiness Silence isn’t empty—it’s full. Full of insight, awareness, peace, and connection. We’ve just forgotten how to listen. When we sit still, we remember. ✨ The Bottom Line Most ppl avoid meditation not because it doesn’t work, but because it does. It slows the mind, reveals truth, and returns us to ourselves. That’s powerful—and sometimes scary. But the next time u resist, ask urself: “Am I avoiding meditation—or am I avoiding me?” Is anyone interested? In a 7 day Challenge?

Long, long ago, and far, far away, I grew up in an extremely conservative little (<2k people) town with nothing but a library to feed my growing mind and insatiable curiosity. A book list like this would have been pure gold. Hope many others find it useful!
