That is pretty cool. I didnt realize the benefits. As an introvert, I will need to figure out how to be more present on this channel.
Proof That Books Can Keep Paying You
I want to be transparent with you all. I’m not out here making millions from books. I’m just an average person on the internet with a full-time job, a busy schedule, and I’m also a mom to a 4-year-old on the spectrum. Life is full. ❤️ Since shifting a lot of my focus toward building this Skool community, that has been taking up most of my extra time outside of work and family. Because of that, I actually haven’t published a new book in over 6 months. But here’s what I think is pretty cool… the books I already published are still working for me. So far this year: 📚 Paperbacks + eBooks: $8,379+ 🎧 Audiobooks: ~$9,000+ 💰 Total: Over $17,000 in royalties this year That’s why I love publishing. You put in work upfront, create something that can help people, and over time those books can continue bringing in income while you focus on other areas of life. For the second half of this year, I’m planning to shift more energy back into publishing because it’s still my strongest income stream. I’m sharing this because I hope it encourages you. Even if you already have a full plate, you don’t need to wait for the “perfect” time to start. Your words, your experiences, and your knowledge can become assets that continue working for you long after you hit publish. ❤️ If you've already published, drop below: How has your experience been so far? 👇

Thank you for posting this. I have attended webinars that teach your book sales won't make you money. Your book is suppose to be the "business card" for whatever business you are going to build from your book.
📚 3 Questions to Ask Before You Start Writing Your Book
One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is jumping straight into writing before answering a few important questions. Writing the book is the time-consuming part, so you want to make sure you're building on a strong foundation first. 1️⃣ Who exactly am I writing this for? "Everyone" isn't your audience. Get specific. Who is this person? What are they struggling with? What problem are they trying to solve? The clearer you are, the easier it becomes to create content that actually connects. 2️⃣ Is there demand for this topic? Just because a topic sounds interesting doesn't automatically mean people are actively searching for it. Spend time validating demand. Are people searching for it on Amazon? Are similar books selling? Is there evidence that readers are looking for help with this problem? 3️⃣ What transformation or outcome am I helping them achieve? People don't buy books because they want pages... they buy them because they want a result. They're buying: ✔ Better relationships ✔ Less stress ✔ More confidence ✔ A new skill ✔ A solution to a problem Ask yourself: What will someone be able to do, feel, or understand after reading my book? Before you write a single chapter, answer these three questions. ➡️ If you found this post helpful but you have not yet been through the classroom called Future Author Energy, you need to go through that. I would highly recommend it. It helps you get really clear on who your audience is and what the takeaways are for your book.

@Stephanie Davis I am in the same position. I have point 1 and 3, but point 2 doesnt apply. I wrote it because I feel it is an important topic to learn and it is missing in Children's literature. I am writing a series on situational awareness and safety. I have no idea if people want it though.

@Al Anderson Thank you. I appreciate your help.
Did you know that books have seasonality? 📚
One thing I’ve noticed after publishing multiple books 📚 over the years is that sales often start to climb in the fall and winter months… and then soften a bit during spring and summer. And honestly, it makes sense. When the weather gets colder, people spend more time indoors, scroll online more, listen to more audiobooks during commutes, and look for ways to learn, escape, or improve themselves. Meanwhile, spring and summer tend to shift attention toward vacations, outdoor activities, family events, and just being out living life. Even major retailers plan around this behavior. The publishing industry sees strong momentum during: ➡️ Back-to-school season ➡️ Q4 holiday shopping ➡️ New Year “new me” self-improvement season That’s why it’s important not to panic if your sales dip a little during warmer months. A slower season doesn’t automatically mean your book is failing. This is actually a GREAT time to: - Build your catalog - Improve your listings - Gather reviews - Optimize your keywords - Prepare for stronger Q4 traffic later in the year Think of it like planting seeds before the busy shopping season arrives. 🌱 Now I’m curious… Have you personally noticed certain times of year where you buy or read more books? Or do your habits stay the same year-round?

Any data specific to Children Picture Books? I was thinking of launching Spring 2027. It won't be ready by Fall and I heard don't bother in November/December if it is not holiday themed. January/February nobody buys, so I figured Spring it is. I don't want to wait until Fall 2027. Thoughts?

@Greg Junge Hi Greg. My idea is picture books about health and safety. Considering turning it into elementary age curriculum at some point. I love your idea of financial learning for teens. Great topic. I literally have no socials, not even personal. I did open a LinkIn recently to find my editor, but have not uploaded anything on it yet. Ha! I know I am behind in all things marketing, stone age behind.
